NextNet AI - Client FAQ's

NextNet AI – Client FAQ

What does NextNet AI do?

NextNet AI helps you understand how AI systems (such as AI search experiences and large language models) interpret, trust, and reference your website.

Traditional SEO tools focus on rankings and keywords.

NextNet AI focuses on AI comprehension, authority, and citations — which are increasingly how visibility works in an AI-driven search world.

What does it mean when content “chunks” are marked as weak?

A “weak” content chunk means AI systems:

  • Are uncertain about what the content is saying
  • Don’t see it as a strong or complete answer
  • Don’t confidently associate it with a clear topic or entity

This does not mean your content is bad.

It means AI does not yet fully understand or trust it.

Why doesn’t NextNet AI tell me exactly how to fix weak content?

NextNet AI is intentionally diagnostic, not prescriptive.

It shows where improvement is needed without automatically rewriting your content. This ensures:

  • Your brand voice stays intact
  • Your writers remain in control
  • No risky or generic AI-generated rewrites

Think of NextNet AI as a prioritization and clarity tool, not an auto-content generator.

How should my writers use NextNet AI?

A simple, effective workflow:

  1. Review weak content areas
  2. Ask:
    • Does this clearly answer a specific question?
    • Is the topic unambiguous?
    • Would an AI confidently summarize this?
  3. Improve by adding:
    • Clear definitions
    • FAQs
    • Examples
    • Structured headers
    • Internal links

There are a lot of tabs — where should I start?

You don’t need to use everything at once.

We recommend starting with:

Overview

Does AI understand and trust my site overall?

Topics Analysis

How well does my content support the topics I care about?

Citations

Is AI actually referencing my site as a source?

Other sections provide deeper insights for advanced users and agencies.

How do Topics work in NextNet AI?

Topics in NextNet AI are defined by you.

They are added:

  • During onboarding, or
  • Manually in the Topics Analysis section

Once topics are added, NextNet AI evaluates how well your existing site content aligns with those topics from an AI perspective.

Why don’t some Topics align with what I expect?

If a topic appears misaligned or underperforming, it means:

  • AI systems don’t yet strongly associate your content with that topic
  • The topic may not be clearly or deeply supported
  • Content language or structure isn’t reinforcing it consistently

This gap is intentional and valuable — it highlights where your intent and AI understanding are not yet aligned.

Where do Topics come from?

Topics are:

  • Added by you during onboarding or manually
  • Fully configurable and editable
  • Used as tracking anchors for AI understanding and citations

NextNet AI does not automatically invent or assign topics without your input.

Why would a Topic perform poorly even if it exists on my site?

Common reasons include:

  • The topic is covered on only one page
  • Content lacks depth or clarity
  • AI cannot confidently extract a clear answer
  • Supporting pages are missing or not internally linked
  • Multiple topics compete for focus

NextNet AI surfaces these gaps so your team knows where to focus effort.

Why is Topics Analysis more valuable than keyword tracking?

Keywords show where you rank.

Topics show what AI understands your brand to represent.

As search shifts toward AI-generated answers, topic authority matters more than individual keyword positions.

What are “User Seed” and “SERP Seed”?

These are advanced diagnostic concepts, mainly for agencies and power users.

In simple terms:

  • User Seed reflects how AI understands your site from user-style questions
  • SERP Seed reflects how AI understands your site relative to search patterns

If you’re not doing advanced analysis, you can safely ignore these.

I requested content support but haven’t heard back — what happens to those requests?

Content support requests are reviewed by our internal team and are not real-time chat support.

We’re actively improving:

  • Visibility into request status
  • Confirmation and follow-ups
  • Response workflows

For urgent needs, your account manager or support contact can assist directly.

What is Drift?

Drift shows whether AI’s understanding of your site is improving, declining, or staying stable over time.

Examples:

  • Positive drift = AI confidence is increasing
  • Negative drift = content changes or competitors are impacting visibility

Drift is best viewed as a trend indicator, not a daily action metric.

What is Telemetry?

Telemetry measures the stability and consistency of AI signals about your site.

In plain terms, it reflects:

  • Reliability of AI understanding
  • Consistency of authority signals
  • Stability of AI visibility over time

What does the “Competitors” section under Citations mean?

If you see a message like:

“100% of AI citations for your topics come from your domain. No competitors detected.”

This means:

  • For the tracked topics, AI is only citing your site
  • No other domains are being referenced for those topics

This is a positive authority signal, not an indication that you have no competitors in the market.

How do I improve my AIR Score?

AIR Score improves when AI:

  • Clearly understands your topical focus
  • Sees consistent, structured content
  • Detects strong authority signals

Improvements typically come from:

  • Stronger core content
  • Clear topical depth
  • Reduced ambiguity

How do I improve AI Citations?

Citations increase when:

  • Your content is authoritative and clear
  • Third-party sites reference you
  • AI consistently sees you as a trusted source

This often requires:

  • Content improvements
  • Digital PR
  • Authority-building efforts

How do I improve Sentiment?

Sentiment improves with:

  • Positive brand mentions
  • Reviews and testimonials
  • Favorable contextual references across the web

Does NextNet AI make these improvements automatically?

No.

NextNet AI measures and reveals opportunity.

Execution happens through:

  • Your internal team
  • Your agency partners
  • Optional managed services

This ensures accuracy, control, and sustainable results.

Can I export or share this data with clients?

Export and reporting capabilities are actively being expanded, including reseller-friendly options.

In the meantime:

  • Screenshots and summaries are commonly used
  • Account teams can assist with client-ready explanations

What’s the simplest way to describe NextNet AI?

“NextNet AI shows how AI systems understand, trust, and reference your brand — something traditional SEO tools don’t measure.”
