Air Score

Air Score Deep Dive

What does the AIR Score mean?

The AIR Score measures how quickly and consistently AI systems understand, trust, and reuse your content.

It is not a grade, and not an SEO score.

Higher AIR = AI trusts your content more and uses it more often.

Where should my AIR Score be?

Most established sites naturally fall between 40–60. This is normal and healthy, not a problem.

At this range:

  • AI understands what you do
  • AI may include you in answers
  • AI does not rely on you every time yet

When should I be concerned?

Only if your AIR Score is:

  • Below 30 on an established site
  • Dropping sharply without explanation
  • Stuck long-term despite consistent improvements
  • Small fluctuations in the 40–60 range are expected

AIR Score ranges (quick reference)

0–30 (Stalled): AI does not clearly understand or trust the site

30–45 (Idling): AI understands you but doesn’t rely on you

45–60 (City Driving): AI trusts you sometimes (most clients start here)

60–75 (Highway): AI relies on you for core topics

75–90 (Performance): You are a trusted reference

90+: Category-defining authority (not expected for most businesses)

Key takeaway

AIR measures AI trust speed, not success or failure. Being in the 40–60 range is normal; consistency and clarity matter more than chasing a perfect score.
